Knowledge to change practice

fair-fish international (fair-fish.net) was founded as an association in 2010, ten years after the association fair-fish Switzerland (fair-fish.ch).

fair-fish international wants to help animal welfare in fish achieve a breakthrough, especially in the case of edible fish, and at the same time takes into account the criteria of sustainability and fair trade.

fair-fish international develops the scientific basis for its own projects and campaigns as well as for those carried out by its partners. Example: Our fair-fish database, the first database worldwide which presents the knowledge about the needs and behaviour of species kept in aquaculture or catched - a basis for fish welfare advice and further research by the Fish Ehology and Welfare Group.
